Interoperable PEP
depend.jpgPhase 2 SatLabs System Recommendations introduce the interoperable Performance Enhancement Proxy (I-PEP) as a SatLabs certification option (PEP option).

The I-PEP specification includes a Vendor Identifier (“Vendor ID”) field in its protocol in order that iPEP implementers may define private extension to the base protocol.

Regimentation for Vendor ID assigment

I-PEP vendors wishing to be assigned a Vendor ID must contact SatLabs
Vendor ID is an 8 bit value.
Vendors shall be assigned only one Vendor ID each.
Vendor ID will be allocated by SatLabs management on a First Come First Served basis.

There is no fee for obtaining a Vendor ID assignment. The normal time for completing the application process is 30 days. A Vendor requesting for a Vendor ID will receive an e-mail requesting confirmation of the information it has submitted.
The Vendor shall provide the following information:

  • Company name
  • Company address
  • Company phone number
  • Contact name
  • Contact email
If a Vendor does not use its ID or uses an ID which is not rightfully assigned to its organisation, the SatLabs management reserves the right to suspend the right for this vendor to use its ID or to apply for one in the future. Vendor ID assignment is a pre-requisite to SatLabs Version 2 certification for the PEP option.
